Guide for influencers

What to look out for

You decide what you accept. These five points help you size up a request in two minutes.

  1. Read what is to be delivered

Count the pieces of work and work out your effort: concept, shooting, editing, alignment. Does the fee match?

  2. Look at the usage rights

On your channels only is the normal case. If the client wants to use your content themselves or run it as an ad, that is worth more, and it has an end: the duration is in the request.

  3. Work with what reaches you

Every request shows what is paid out after the platform fee. The client pays nothing on top; the fee comes out of your fee.

  4. Accept only what suits you

Your audience notices whether you stand behind a product. Declining is allowed and has no consequences.

  5. Keep agreements in the thread

Not on the phone and not in private messages: what is written in the thread of the booking stays readable for both sides.

Labelling advertising

If you receive money or anything else in return for a post, label it clearly and right at the beginning as advertising. That is what the media authorities in Germany call for (“Werbung” or “Anzeige”); the details are in their guide.

This is orientation, not legal advice. Outside Germany other rules apply.
